About Prof. Hatem Galal Said
Prof. Hatem Galal Said is a consultant specializing in arthroscopic surgery of the hip, shoulder, and knee.
His fellowship in Shoulder Arthroscopy was completed in Birmingham, UK, in 2005. Following this, Prof. Hatem established and developed the shoulder service in Assiut and Upper Egypt. Over the years, he has performed thousands of shoulder surgeries, including Bankart repairs, Biceps tendon repairs, SLAP repairs, and treatments for Rotator Cuff injuries.
In 2008, Prof. Hatem began practicing Hip Arthroscopy and further honed his skills during a fellowship in Munich, Germany, in 2010. He has since become the leading Hip Arthroscopy surgeon in Egypt and the Middle East, treating cases of Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) and Labral tears on a weekly basis.
Prof. Hatem also has extensive experience in treating knee conditions, ranging from sports injuries such as ACL reconstruction and Meniscal tears to complex multi-ligament knee injuries and advanced knee osteoarthritis, including Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA).
In addition to his clinical work, Prof. Hatem has held numerous international positions and has published extensively in the fields of Arthroscopy and Trauma, boasting an H-index of 21. He currently heads the Arthroscopy Unit at Assiut University, is the former Treasurer of SICOT (International Orthopedic Society), and serves as an active faculty member for AOTrauma.
